Andrew Perry has been clogging for 13 years, and has been a member of the WNYCA for 10 years. Andrew has also been a member of the WNYCA board of directors for the past 7 years, a position he is very proud of and thankful to have! He is from the wonderful Adirondack region of upstate New York. Living only twenty minutes from the Canadian border, friends from the south have commented that Andrew has a bit of a Canadian accent thrown into his northern drawl. Eh? ☺ Andrew is currently living in Columbus, OH where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at The Ohio State University. Andrew is currently dancing with the Yellow Rose Cloggers of Ohio under the direction of Adam King.
Andrew’s own clogging group, the Drew Crew Cloggers, has performed regionally around upstate New York since 2009. The dancers have included a wide range of ages with the youngest dancer ever taught being three years old. Andrew is very proud of his work with local children. The highlight of the Drew Crew’s performance career came in 2012 and again in 2015 when the group travelled to Honolulu, Hawaii to march and perform in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. There were one-hundred thousand people in attendance along with hundreds of active duty and retired servicemen and women. These included fifteen Pearl Harbor survivors, who were in the front row of the Drew Crew’s evening performance. It was a spectacular thrill for the group and continues to be a fond memory for Andrew.
